OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Alyssa Thren, Ursinus (Sr, F, Barto, Pa. / Upper Perkiomen)

Thren turned up big for No. 12 Ursinus during the 2011 Centennial Conference Championships. She scored the opening goal against No. 3 seeded Johns Hopkins and assisted on the second goal as the Bears defeated the Blue Jays, 2-0, in the second semifinal game on Saturday. In the final game against No. 1 seeded Franklin & Marshall, Thren scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal, as the Bears won their eighth-straight Centennial Conference title.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jill Lukens, Ursinus (Sr, GK, Furlong, Pa. / C.B. East)

Lukens registered all 140 minutes in the cage this weekend for No. 12 Ursinus, going 2-0 in the Centennial Conference Championships. She recorded six saves and a shutout in the 2-0 win against No. 3 seeded Johns Hopkins on Saturday and then grabbed another six in the final against No. 1 seeded Franklin & Marshall on Sunday, which the Bears went on to win 2-1. The win captured the Bears' eighth-straight Centennial Conference title.

CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE NOTEBOOK

The first semifinal gmae in the 2011 Centennial Conference Field Hockey Championships between No. 1 seeded Franklin & Marshall and No. 4 seeded Haverford marked the longest game in conference tournament history, concluding as time expired in one round of overtime.

Before heading into the first round game of the 2011 Centennial Conference Field Hockey Championships, teams leading by halftime were 19-3. Haverford added to that statistic, becoming the 4th team to come back from a halftime deficit to advance to semifinals, defeating Washington College 2-0.

Senior forward Becky Willert (North East, Md. / Rising Sun) moved up in the Franklin & Marshall field hockey history books after this weekend, becoming fourth in all-time career goals (46) and second in single-season goals (27).

No. 7 Franklin & Marshall will host SUNY Cortland in the first round of the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament on Wednesday, marking the fifth overall NCAA appearance for the Diplomats and first since 1992.

No. 12 Ursinus grabbed its eighth-straight Centennial Conference field hockey title Sunday, upsetting No. 1 seeded Franklin & Marshall by a score of 2-1.
