Johns Hopkins and Bryn Mawr notched 3-2 victories in the Centennial Conference field hockey semifinals on Thursday night to advance to Saturday's championship. The three-time defending champion Blue Jays move on to the title game for the fifth straight season, while the Owls advance to the championship for the first time in program history.
In Baltimore, Md., top-seeded Hopkins jumped out to an early lead and helf off a comeback attempt from fourth-seeded Ursinus for a 3-2 semifinal victory at Homewood Field. Abby Birk led the Jays with a goal and two assists. Gen Mehra and Siena Urbanski tallied the other two goals for Hopkins, while Mary Lauren Franz and Maeve Montgomery scored for the Bears.
