Haverford at Ursinus (Women's Basketball)
The Fords (11-6 CC, 16-6) travel up 422 to Collegeville to take on
the Bears (11-5, 12-9), looking for their first season sweep of UC
since 2000. Haverford defeated Ursinus, 47-42, back on Dec. 7 as
Rachel Baskin posted 12 points, 15 rebounds and
four assists. The Bears have one of the best home records in the
Conference, winning seven of eight games at Helfferich Hall, while
the Fords are 8-2 away from Gooding Arena. In the tight race for
the Centennial playoffs, tonight's winner will have a leg up in the
chase for a first-round bye or homecourt in the first round.
Gettysburg at Franklin & Marshall (Women's
Basketball)
It is the 66th meeting between the Bullets (9-7, 11-10) and the
Diplomats (12-4, 15-6) with F&M looking for just its second
season sweep of their arch-rivals since the inception of the
Conference in 1994. The Dips took a pair from Gettysburg in 2009
and defeated the Orange and Blue, 64-56, back on Dec. 7. Both teams
need a victory, as F&M chases Johns Hopkins for the top seed
and the Bullets look to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Alyssa Oursler leads G'burg in scoring (10.9),
while Alexa Barbush tops the Diplomat scoring
chart (16.8).
Muhlenberg at Dickinson (Men's Basketball)
The Conference's two hottest teams meet tonight at the Kline
Center in a game that could decide which team secures a first-round
bye for the Centennial tournament. The Mules (8-6, 14-7) won the
year's first meeting on Dec. 7 by an 84-65 count to take a 42-40
all-time lead in the series. The Red Devils (9-5, 12-9) have won
five of the last six meetings in Carlisle. Two of the top big men
in the Conference square off in 'Berg's Spencer
Liddic, who leads the CC in scoring (18.8) and rebounding
(11.2), and Dickinson's Gerry Wixted, who is sixth
in scoring (17.0) and second on the glass (9.0).
Haverford at Ursinus (Men's Basketball)
Every game is a playoff game for the Fords (6-8, 8-13) and the
Bears (7-7, 8-13) who cannot afford another Conference loss.
Ursinus won the previous meeting on the Main Line on Dec. 7 by a
77-58 count to take an 89-53 series advantage and looks for its
third season sweep in five years. It could come down to a battle
inside between Haverford's Brett Cohen (12.2 ppg,
9.0 rpg) and the Bears' Jon Ward (17.4 ppg, 5.1
rpg)
