Wednesday's Games to Watch

Claire McAuliffe, Washington College; Katie Teleky, Swarthmore; Annie Weichert, Dickinson; Francesca Cobuzzi, Muhlenberg

Ursinus at Washington College (Field Hockey, 7:00)
Two teams fighting for a playoff berth and a possible first-round bye meet in Chestertown on Wednesday night. The Bears (7-6, 4-3 CC) have won all 12 meetings with the Shorewomen (8-6, 4-2) since 2002. Catherine Bitterly is tied for fifth in the Conference with seven assists for UC, while Claire McAuliffe is fourth in points with 10-4-24 for WAC.

Johns Hopkins at Dickinson (Women's Soccer, 7:00)
It's a rematch of the 2010 CC final as the Blue Jays (10-3-1, 5-1) visit Carlisle and the new Phyllis Miller Soccer Complex to take on the Red Devils (10-4, 4-3). Hopkins leads the all-time series, 14-6-4, but four of those losses have come on the grass at Dickinson, including a 1-0 loss in 2010. JHU's Hannah Kronick has blossomed into one of the top scorers in Division III and has 18 goals on the season. Dickinson's Marissa Kunkle leads a staunch defense in front of 'keeper Annie Weichert.

Swarthmore at Muhlenberg (Women's Soccer, 7:00)
Two teams battling for a playoff berth and seeding meet on the natural surface in Allentown as the Garnet (9-4, 5-2) takes on the Mules (6-6-2, 4-2-1). Swarthmore is 4-1-1 against Muhlenberg in the last six meetings but trails in the all-time series, 13-5-3. Two of the top 'keepers in the Conference are on display tonight in the Garnet's Reba Magier (.875 save pct) and the Mules' Francesca Cobuzzi (.864).

Swarthmore at Muhlenberg (Field Hockey, 7:30)
It's playoff hockey action at Scotty Wood Stadium tonight as the Garnet (8-6, 3-4) and the Mules (8-5, 3-4) square off. Neither team can afford another CC loss, so this one shapes up as an elimination contest. Swarthmore has won the last two meetings and holds a 12-7 series edge since 1993. Muhlenberg has won four straight in Allentown, including a 4-1 decision in the last meeting in the Lehigh Valley in 2009. Katie Teleky leads the Garnet with 10 goals, while Kayleigh Thies tops the Mule scoring list with 4-6-14.
