Championship Weekend Preview

Women's Soccer at Johns Hopkins
Johns Hopkins, ranked fifth by D3soccer.com and sixth by the NSCAA, welcomes defending champion Haverford, Gettysburg and Muhlenberg to Homewood Field for the weekend. The Fords broke the Blue Jays' seven-year stranglehold on the Conference title last season with a 2-1 triumph in the final. It was Haverford's first Centennial crown since 1995.The Fords edged the Bullets, 2-1, back on Sept. 28 and have won five of the last six games against the Battlefielders. Hopkins blanked Muhlenberg, 5-0, on Sept. 21, and is 12-1 against the Mules on the turf at Homewood. Keep and eye on Hopkins' striker Hannah Kronick, who has a CC leading 16 goals on the season. Gettysburg GK Eliza Gray tops the CC in save percentage (.855) and goals-against average (0.48), while Haverford's Robin Chernow is second in GAA (0.55).

Field Hockey at Franklin & Marshall
The defending champion Diplomats welcome #2 Ursinus, #3 Dickinson and #4 Haverford to Tylus Field for the final four. Franklin & Marshall has won 22 consecutive Centennial matches, dating to a 2-1 loss to the Bears in the 2011 final. F&M is 24-7-1 overall against Haverford and 2-0 in the playoffs, including a 4-1 triumph in last season's title game. Ursinus is 12-0 all-time against Dickinson, including a 5-1 victory on Oct. 19. UC sophomore Megan Keenan leads the Conference in scoring (21-11-53), while F&M's Avery Koep has allowed only 12 goals on the season with a CC best 0.77 goals-against average.

Men's Soccer at Haverford
The defending champion Fords serve as host to the Centennial final four for the first time at Walton Field. Haverford has reached the final in each of the last two seasons, falling in 2011 to Dickinson in PKs before breaking through with a win over Swarthmore last year. The Garnet looks for its first title since 2010, while Franklin & Marshall looks for its first Centennial championship. The Red Devils defeated the Fords, 3-1, back on Oct. 5 at Walton and are 9-9-2 all-time vs. Haverford on the Main Line. F&M knocked off Swarthmore, 2-1, a week ago in Lancaster for its first win over the Garnet since the 2006 Centennial semis. F&M senior Ben Beaver leads the Conference with 12 goals, while teammate T.J. White leads the CC in goals-against average (0.58). Haverford GK Sam Miller tops the league in save percentage (.850).

Volleyball at Franklin & Marshall
Two-time defending Centennial champ Johns Hopkins goes on the road to Lancaster, looking for a "three-peat." The fourth-seeded Blue Jays take on top-seeded F&M in the opening semi, while surprising Muhlenberg and McDaniel meet in the nightcap. The Diplomats defeated Hopkins, 3-1, at home on Oct. 2 and are looking to avenge a title-match loss to JHU in 2012. F&M is 12-2 against the Jays at Mayser Center and 5-2 against Hopkins in the playoffs. Three years ago, the Mules and the Green Terror tied for last place in the Centennial. Tomorrow they meet for the right to play for the Conference title. Muhlenberg defeated McDaniel in straight sets on Sept. 14 for its third straight win in the series. The teams have never met in the playoffs. Hopkins' Meagan Donohoe leads the CC in kills (4.30), while F&M's Julie Harvey is second in hitting percentage (.354).
