LANCASTER, Pa. - Swarthmore's Katie Lytle has been selected as the 2014 Centennial Conference NCAA Woman of the Year nominee, as selected in a balloting by Conference administrators. The senior, two-sport athlete from Harrisburg, Pa. led the Garnet on the basketball court, in the classroom and in the community.

The NCAA Woman of the Year Award is presented annually to a graduating student-athlete who has distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.

Lytle was a four-year letter winner for the Garnet women's basketball team and a two-year letter winner for the women's outdoor track and field team. In basketball, Lytle was among 10 NCAA Division III student-athletes in the country to be named to the 2014 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American First Team. Lytle, who was honorably mentioned for All-America laurels by the WBCA last year, is the third player in league history to earn multiple Centennial Conference Player of the Year honors. The senior, who registered 14 double-doubles, averaged 17.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 2.3 assists and 0.7 blocks this season. In addition, Lytle led the league in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage (51.4) while ranking second in steals.

Lytle was also named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week four times this season and was a Capital One Academic All-American last month. She finished her illustrious career ranked sixth all-time in scoring (1,382 points), third in rebounding (1,050), fourth in steals (228), fourth in blocks (85) and seventh in field goals made (495).

The NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics (CWA) selection committee will choose the top 10 honorees in each division. From among those 30 candidates, the selection committee will determine the top three in each division. Finally, the members of the CWA will vote from among the top nine finalists to determine the 2013 NCAA Woman of the Year.

The top 10 honorees and the nine finalists from Divisions I, II and III will be honored and the 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year winner announced at a dinner in Indianapolis this October.
