Sixth Annual Centennial-MAC Bowl Series Set for Nov. 20

Sixth Annual Centennial-MAC Bowl Series Set for Nov. 20

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference and the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) will continue with its postseason bowl series in 2021 for a sixth year after missing the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sixth Annual Centennial-MAC Bowl Series will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20.

The structure of the 2021 bowl series matchups remains the same as 2019. The No. 1 seeds from each conference will host the No. 2 seeds. However, the No. 3 vs No. 3 matchup host will rotate to the Centennial team since the 2020 season was canceled. Moving forward the MAC will now host the No. 3 vs. No. 3 game in even years and the Centennial will host in odd years. Below is the 2021 Bowl Series structure:

2021 Centennial-MAC Bowl Series Matchups
MAC No. 2 Seed at Centennial No. 1 Seed
Centennial No. 2 Seed at MAC No. 1 Seed
MAC No. 3 Seed at Centennial No. 3 Seed

The two conferences will continue to support the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) partnership with Special Olympics by donating a portion of the proceeds generated during the Bowl Series to the organization. Giving back to local and regional communities not only adds to the comprehensive learning component of Division III, but also provides a venue for passion and service. Ticket prices for the 2021 Centennial-MAC Bowl Series will be $10 for adults and free for students with a valid school ID and a suggested donation to Special Olympics. Special Olympics athletes and children under the age of six are also admitted for free.

The Centennial Conference holds an 8-4 advantage in the bowl series after sweeping the three games in 2019. The MAC won the first four games over the first two years of the annual event, but the Centennial Conference has won the last eight games since 2017.

NCAA rules permit a conference-sponsored postseason tournament – one between teams that are not identified until the end of the preceding regular season – not to exceed one contest for any one institution.

More information will be available on Sunday, November 14, following the announcement of the 32-team NCAA Division III championship field. Check back at our websites – www.centennial.org or http://gomacsports.com – for all the details.
