Long-Time Rivals F&M and Muhlenberg Meet for Men's Title

Long-Time Rivals F&M and Muhlenberg Meet for Men's Title

Georgio Milligan, Franklin & Marshall and Spencer Liddic, Muhlenberg

Muhlenberg at Franklin & Marshall
The series began in 1902 and is renewed for the 134th time tonight as the Mules and the Diplomats battle for the Centennial title. Franklin & Marshall looks to become the first team to win three consecutive Conference championships, while Muhlenberg looks for its first championship since 1998. The teams split their regular-season matchups winning on their home floors. The teams are tied 3-3 in Centennial playoff games. The most memorable may have been in the 1995 final when the Mules upset the Diplomats, undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the country, by an 88-86 count. The subplots are good ones - the backcourt between F&M's Georgio Milligan and Muhlenberg's Malique Killing, and the frontcourt between the Diplomats' Hayk Gyokchyan and the Mules' Spencer Liddic.
