Centennial Notebook

Dickinson extended the Centennial's first-round winning streak in NCAA tournament games to seven with an 80-65 victory over Marietta. It was the Devils' first postseason game at the Kline Center since 1990 and boosted the Red and White's program record for victories in a season to 21.

Dickinson junior G Adam Honig (Chappaqua, NY / Horace Greeley) scored a game-high 32 points with five three-pointers to lead the Devils. He also surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career.

The Red Devils will travel to Wooster, Ohio, on Saturday for a second-round game against Wooster. The Fighting Scots, ranked 20th by D3hoops.com, won the regular-season title of the North Coast Athletic Conference but lost in the NCAC tournament final. It is just the second meeting between the Centennial and North Coast in NCAA play. Wooster defeated Gettysburg, 79-66, in the NCAA first round in 2009.

Wooster head coach Steve Moore has a history against Dickinson. Moore coached at Muhlenberg from 1982-87 before taking over the Scots. On Feb. 3, 1982, the Devils and Mules played in the lowest scoring game in Division III history. Dickinson led 2-0 at the half and went onto win 15-6. Six NCAA records were set in that game that still stand – fewest combined points in a game (21) and half (2); fewest points by a team in a game (6) and a half (0); and fewest field goals made (3) and attempted (11) by one team in a game.

The Centennial is now 34-28 in the NCAA tournament since its inception as a Conference in 1993-94.
