D3hoops.com All-America Team | NABC All-America Team
Swarthmore junior Vinny DeAngelo has been named to the D3hoops.com and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America teams. DeAngelo was a first team NABC pick and a fourth team choice by D3hoops.
DeAngelo became the second player in program history to garner NABC first-team status and the third individual to be selected a NABC All-American. Zac O'Dell earned third-team status in 2020, while Cam Wiley garnered a third-team and first-team nod in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
The junior guard has had a phenomenal season for the Garnet, proving to be the engine behind Swarthmore's elite team. The Pennsylvania native balled out in nearly every game this season, putting up a team leading 17.4 points per game while shooting .500 from the floor and .457 from three. No pushover defensively either, DeAngelo has pulled down 4.2 rebounds per game, snagged 35 steals and blocked 10 shots on the season. The guard also scored his 1,000th career point in a game against Muhlenberg this year, becoming just the 27th player in Swarthmore program history to achieve that mark.
DeAngelo has been inundated with post-season awards this year, having been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team and the All-Centennial Conference First Team, while also earning the titles of NABC District V Player of the Year, D3Hoops Region V Player of the Year, Centennial Conference Player of the Year and Centennial Conference Tournament MVP.
