ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall won its fourth consecutive Centennial Conference men's golf championship with a dramatic four-shot win over runner-up Swarthmore.
It is the unprecedented ninth Centennial championship for F&M and the third time that the Garnet has finished second (2007, 2012).
Diplomat senior Steve Colodny was the Conference's Champion Golfer of the Year, firing a 72-73-74--219 to tie a Centennial 54-hole tournament record. He was three shots clear of teammate Brad Lankler, who closed with a 74, and Swarthmore sophomore Vamsi Damerla, who finished with a 77.
The trio was named first-team All-Conference along with Swarthmore's Dan Altieri (223) and Muhlenberg's Ian Simon (224). McDaniel's Christian Garruppo was named the Conference's Rookie of the Year, after finishing 10th with a 228.
Franklin & Marshall received the Centennial's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III championship tournament.
