F&M in 17th After NCAA Championship Day Two

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky.- The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team finished the second round of the NCAA Championship shooting a 295 to bring its team total to 593 – placing the Diplomats in 17th in the team standings. Dylan Gallagher leads F&M in the individual standings, carding a 74 to share eighth place after day two at Keene Trace Golf Club.

Following Gallagher is teammate Shane Lawler, who shot a 71 in the second round to move into a tie for 58th. Lawler carded 10 pars and five birdies to finish six strokes better than his first-round score. Jack Cooley ended the day with a score of 75 to move into a tie for 69th. Jas Fuhrer carded a 76, while Chris Dorey shot a 75 to tie each other for 87th.

Methodist and Piedmont currently are tied for the lead in the team standings with 573 each. Bobby Beaubien of Illinois Wesleyan, Sam Berger of St. John's (Minn.), Alex Price of Christopher Newport, and Henry Scavone of Carnegie Mellon currently share a tie for the lead on the individual leaderboard – each shooting four-under par.

The Diplomats made the cut as the top 18 teams in the field advance. Franklin & Marshall looks to continue climbing the leaderboard tomorrow on Day Three of the NCAA Championship. Dorey tees off first at 9:50 a.m. He is followed by Fuhrer (10:00 a.m.), Cooley (10:10 a.m.), Lawler (10:20 a.m.), and Gallagher (10:30 a.m.), in order.
