LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus and Gettysburg finished tied for the top spot in the 2021 Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll, while Franklin & Marshall also received multiple first-place votes in the annual voting among conference head coaches.
Ursinus, which captured its first-ever CC title in 2019, collected the most first-place votes (3) in the preseason rankings, while earning the same amount of points (32) as Gettysburg, the 2019 CC runner-up. F&M (29 points; 2 first-place votes) was close behind in third place in the preseason rankings.
Dickinson finished fourth with 19 points, followed by Muhlenberg (16), Washington College (13) and McDaniel (6).
The Centennial is well represented in the most recent United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association national rankings, with Ursinus (9), Gettysburg (10) and F&M (16) securing spots in the poll.
The 2021 campaign will consist of a six-game round robin schedule with three home and three away games for each team. The team with the best won-lost record at seasons end will be deemed CC champion, as no conference tournament will be played. Conference plays is set to begin on Saturday, March 20 and wrap up on Saturday, May 1.
