Diplomats, Devils Down Top Seeds to Reach Final

A Connor Finn goal in the 63rd minute broke a 1-1 tie and advanced the Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team to its first Centennial Conference (CC) Championship game since 2006, with a 2-1 victory over Swarthmore on Saturday afternoon.

The Diplomats improved to 13-3-2 on the year with their semifinal win and will face off tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. against Dickinson to determine the CC Championship. The Garnet ended their season at 9-5-4.

The #23-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship game for the second team in three seasons, turning back top-seed Haverford College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Senior forward Derek Kachadurian (Weston, Mass./Weston) led his squad to the final, netting both goals from just inside the 18 yard line. He tallied both goals in the second half, scoring his ninth and tenth of the season in the 69th and 80th minutes of the match.

It is the first time since the formation of the Centennial that the Diplomats and Red Devils have met for the title. Dickinson's only crown came in 2011, while Franklin & Marshall is looking for its first CC title.
