JHU's Falzarano and Morgret Named CSC Academic All-Americans

AUSTIN, TX – Johns Hopkins graduate student Alex Morgret and junior Logan Falzarano have been named to the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America Division III Men's Soccer Teams it was announced today. Falzarano was named to the first team while Morgret was named to the second team.
 
Morgret and Falzarano become the 15th and 16th Academic All-Americans in Johns Hopkins men's soccer history. Falzarano is just the sixth first team selection and only the third to earn Academic All-America honors twice. The Blue Jays have produced six Academic All-Americans in the last three years.
 
Falzarano is majoring in applied mathematics and statistics and computer science. Morgret joined the Blue Jays this fall after earning a bachelor's degree in economics from Penn State. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in health care management.
 
Falzarano is a two-year starter and was a key part of a Blue Jay defense that ranked third in the nation in goals against average (0.405) and tied for first in shutouts (16). Hopkins allowed only 6.6 shots per game, including just 2.9 shots on goal. The 16 shutouts are tied for the most in program history.
 
Morgret started every game this season and played nearly 2,214 minutes while boasting a 0.407 goals against average, a .853 save percentage and 14 shutouts. A First Team All-Centennial Conference and United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection, he led the nation in shutouts and minutes played, was second in goals against average and 13th in save percentage.
