Two Centennial Conference relays and two individuals earned All-America honors on day one of the NCAA Swimming Championships on Wednesday in Greensboro, N.C.
Franklin & Marshall's Chris Schiavone raced to a time of 20.23 to claim eighth place in the 50 freestyle. Schiavone's top-8 finish earned the sophomore All-America First Team status.
The Ursinus College women's swimming team is off to a fast start at the NCAA Championships. Senior Peyten Lyons, freshman Sophie Lear, senior Clara Baker, and sophomore Sophie May made history in the 200 medley relay on Wednesday night by breaking their own Centennial Conference with a time of 1:43.16. The mark, which would have been good for sixth in the championship final, was easily enough to win the B final and place the quartet ninth for the highest relay finish in program history.
Swarthmore's men's 200 medley relay of Jeffrey Tse, Christopher Smith, Jeremy Rockaway and Alec Lawless finished 13th in 1:30.69, while Dickinson's Olivia Lyman took 15th in the 500 free in 4:59.90.
