LANCASTER, Pa. - The 2022 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships got off to a fast start on Thursday night at Franklin & Marshall with a record-breaking performance in the men's 200 medley relay.

Thursday night's action consisted of just four events - the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay for both the men and women. The highlight of the night came in the men's 200 medley relay, as the F&M quartet of Alec Wahl, Tom Graminski, Brendan Cline and Chris Schiavone broke their own championship meet record from 2020 and a new pool record with a time of 1:30.00.

F&M also captured gold in the 800 freestyle relay as Graminski, Willem Stoll, Schiavone and Matthew Hurford raced to a time of 6:41.25.

On the women's side, Swarthmore touched first in both relays. The Garnet 200 medley relay of Ashley Wong, Gaby Ma, Liz Gallagher and Sophie Rotival took gold at 1:44.86, while the 800 freestyle team of Lexi Duffy, Georgi Mathews, Sarah Conely and Mackenzie Tucker narrowly edged Gettysburg with a time of 7:43.68.

After two events, F&M leads the men's standings with 116 points, while the Swarthmore women also have 116 points in first place for the women.
