CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson College Director of Athletics Joel Quattrone has announced the hiring of Anthony Pompei as the new head coach of the Dickinson men's and women's swimming programs. Coach Pompei comes to Carlisle via fellow Centennial Conference institution Gettysburg College, where he has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Bullets.

"We are very excited to welcome Anthony and his wife Cassie into the Dickinson Athletics family," Quattrone said. "Anthony's energy and passion for coaching will serve him well as he begins to make his mark with our men's and women's swim programs. We are excited about what the future holds for Dickinson Swimming."

During his tenure with the Bullets, he helped them to claim a runner-up finish in both the men's and women's Centennial Conference Championships this past season, while aiding in two Top-3 team results at the conference meet in 2021-22. Pompei has helped student-athletes to break 15 Gettysburg team records during his time at the battlefield. Over the course of his career with the Bullets he assisted with the development of six NCAA National Qualifiers, two CSCAA Scholar All-Americans, one COSIDA Academic All-American and one Centennial Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year. Pompei was also responsible for designing the practice and training regimen for the sprint, short-mid, individual medley/butterfly and distance athletes. Pompei had this to say about joining the Red Devil family "First off, I'd like to thank Director of Athletics Joel Quattrone and the entire search committee for this incredible opportunity. I'm thrilled to be joining such a historic college and fantastic athletic department."

Prior to his stint at Gettysburg, Anthony spent two years as a graduate assistant swim coach at King's College in Wlkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. During his time as with the Monarchs, he helped to create, develop and implement a season-long dry-land program, while also leading virtual recruiting events that were held during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was also tasked with scheduling student-athlete visits and maintaining relationships with prospective recruits.

He went on to say "I am excited to with the student-athletes at Dickinson and support them in their academic and athletic endeavors. Dickinson swimming has a rich history of success that I am looking forward to building upon as we take the next steps forward as a program."

Coach Pompei will officially begin his new position with the Red Devils on Wednesday, April 19.
