Diplomats Hand Shoremen First Loss

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall took down undefeated Washington College 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in men's Centennial Conference (CC) tennis action. The Diplomats improved to 4-4, 2-0 CC, while the Shoremen suffered their first loss of the season and sit at 6-1, 1-1 CC.

F&M, the Atlantic South Region's No. 11 team, was led by Doug Kaplan, as he cruised past Vishnu Rajes at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-1. At the No. 2 spot, Nolan Bacchieri won with ease at 6-2, 6-1, and Jack Rothman edged Ryan Holtschneider 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3 position, while Will Samuels won at the No. 4 spot, 6-3, 7-5.

In doubles action, Kaplan and Rothman were impressive at the No. 1 spot with an 8-1 victory, while Vasant Rajamanickam and Bacchieri won at the No. 2 position, 8-3.
