CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Dickinson men's tennis team survived a 5-4 thriller in Chestertown, as sophomore Josh Kaseff (Westport, Conn./Staples) claimed the fifth singles flight to lift the Red Devils to the win.

The Shoremen opened a 2-1 advantage after doubles, claiming the first and second flights. Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) and Clark Chapman (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) suffered a tough decision in the top spot, falling 9-8.

Kaseff joined doubles partner Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) for an 8-3 win at number three.

Junior Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) won the second singles flight in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Chapman held off Ryan Holtschneider (6-3, 6-4) and first-year Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) captured the sixth flight, 6-1, 6-1.

Kaseff opened with a 6-4, first set, but fell even as Zachary Novick claimed the second, 6-0. Kaseff answered, winning the flight and securing the match for Dickinson with a 6-3 mark in the third set.

The Red Devils, ranked 18th in the Mid-Atlantic Region, improve to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference. Washington slips to 8-4 and 2-3 in the CC.

Dickinson is scheduled to travel to McDaniel College on Tuesday for a make-up date at 4:00 pm.
