The Dickinson men's tennis team handed regionally-ranked Haverford College a 6-3 defeat at Hayes Tennis Courts on a gusty, windy Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils had a strong start against the 15th-ranked 'Fords, opening 3-0, claiming a pair of tough doubles matches. Clark Chapman (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) and Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) claimed a tight, 8-6 decision in the top doubles flight.

First-year Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) and junior Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) earned the point in the second flight, 8-5, while Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) and Josh Kaseff (Westport, Conn../Staples) posted a strong 8-2 win in the third flight.

Haverford claimed points in the first and second singles flights, and another in the fourth. The Devils added three singles wins to close out the match. Chapman survived in the third (7-6 [7-3], 6-4). Kaseff was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at #5, and Loring added a straight set match in the sixth (6-1, 6-1).

The Red Devils improve to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference. Haverford drops to 5-3 and 3-1. The Red Devils are scheduled to travel to Gettysburg College on Wednesday for a 3:30 pm match-up with the Bullets.
