Belkin, Morgan Garner Academic All-America Awards

2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team

Swarthmore senior Daniel Belkin and Haverford senior Greg Morgan have been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Belkin earned second team honors, while Morgan was a third team selection. 

The be nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average and be a starter or significant reserve.

Belkin graduated from Swarthmore with a degree in physics in May. He garnered the Centennial Conference's Most Outstanding Indoor Field Performer award for the third year in a row in February. He landed first-team All-Centennial honors in the indoor triple jump and indoor high jump. His season-best marks were 6.73m in the long jump, 2.00m in the high jump and 13.97m in the triple jump.

Belkin is also a member of the 2019 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team.

Morgan closed his Haverford career as a four-time All-American, as he earned that distinction at least once during each of his three running seasons with the Fords, helping lead Haverford to a fourth-place national team finish in cross country in 2018. 

The Hollidaysburg, Pa. product was Haverford's 2019 Varsity Cup winner, Haverford's highest athletic award, presented annually to the outstanding athlete in the senior class. Morgan was named the Mideast Region and Centennial Conference Track Performer of the Year during the 2019 indoor season, and graduated as a six-time Centennial Conference champion, 15-time All-Mideast Region selection, and 16-time All-Centennial Conference performer.

The computer science major was an exemplary student at Haverford, as he was named the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for the 2019 track season. A five-time Centennial Conference Honor Roll selection, Morgan earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors in each season of eligibility.
