2021 USTFCCCA All-Region Teams | 2021 USTFCCCA Regional Awards

Johns Hopkins' Jared Pangallozzi and Annie Gutierrez collected major awards to lead a group of 37 Centennial Conference student-athletes on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Mideast Region team.

Pangallozzi was named Men's Mideast Region Track Athlete of the Year, while Gutierrez was honored as Women's Mideast Region Field Athlete of the Year. Three CC coaches also garnered major awards, as JHU head coach Bobby Van Allen was selected as Women's Mideast Coach of the Year, JHU assistant Alex Jebb Women's Mideast Assistant Coach of the Year, and Ursinus' Stargell Williams was Men's Mideast Assistant Coach of the Year.

Pangallozzi, a senior from Maplewood, New Jersey, is ranked first nationally in the 10,000 at 29:20.29, a mark that has him ranked as the 10th-fastest performer in NCAA DIII history. He is also ranked 12th nationally in the 5000 at 14:27.69 and 32nd nationally in the 1500 at 3:52.84.

Gutierrez, a senior from Miami, Florida, is ranked sixth nationally in the pole vault at 3.82m (12-6¼) and 11th nationally in the heptathlon with 4613 points. She scored 26 points in field events at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships by winning the pole vault and finishing runner-up in both the high jump and long jump.

Van Allen, in his 22nd year at Johns Hopkins, led the Blue Jays to the team title at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Ranked No. 1 in the Mideast TFRI and No. 6 nationally, Johns Hopkins will have 10 entries in the NCAA Championships.

Jebb, in his fifth year at Johns Hopkins, coached athletes to score more than 100 points at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, helping the Blue Jays to the team title. The jumps/multis coach saw his group win or finish second in three jumping events.

Williams, in his third year at Ursinus, led athletes to win all four of the throws at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His group combined to score 68 of the team’s 147 total points and has the Mideast Region’s top-ranked #EventSquad in the shot put and discus.

Top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.
