Ursinus Repeats as Men's Outdoor Champions

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Ursinus won six of 22 events to secure back-to-back Centennial Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field titles on Sunday at Patterson Field. The Bears totaled 199 points to edge second-place Johns Hopkins (190) by nine, the third-closest team finish in CC outdoor history. 

Haverford (93) narrowly edged McDaniel (92) and Muhlenberg (90) for third place.

Five meet records were broken over the weekend, including one apiece from the Most Outstanding Performers of the meet - Haverford's Jamie Moreland and Ursinus' Isaiah Battle. Moreland, the Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet, took gold in both the 1500 (3:46.76) and 800 (1:52.62), repeating as champion and setting a new meet record in the 1500. Battle, the Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet, won the discus (43.66m) and hammer (54.84m) and also placed second in the shot put (15.85m). Battle's hammer mark set a new championship meet record. 

Other championship records were set by Dickinson's Ethan Hart in the shot put (16.52m), Ursinus' Daniel Maloney in the 110 hurdles (14.61), and the Ursinus 4x400 team of Collin Ney, Aiden Tobin, Devon Greaves, and Peyton Stanziani

Additional gold medalists for team-champion Ursinus included Tobin in the 200 (21.65) and Daniel Tabor in the 400 (48.37). 

McDaniel's Nick Razze became the lone three-time champion at the meet, earning his third straight gold medal in the 400 hurdles at 53.68. 

Hopkins also took home six golds, led by two from Ethan Bartlett in the triple jump (14.28m) and high jump (1.99m). Conrad Say won the 100 (10.89) for the Blue Jays, while Peter Lim (pole vault; 4.10m), Owen Bianchi (long jump; 7.07m) and Charlie Teeter (3000 Steeplechase; 9:14.15) also picked up wins. 

In addition to Moreland, Haverford's Ryan Kredell also won a pair of events, crossing first in the both the 5,000m (14:39.80) and 10,000m (30:51.79). 

Noel House repeated as javelin champion for Muhlenberg with a throw of 58.58m, while the Mules' 4x100 team of Trevor HitchcockJoshua CastroJames Nye and Russell Neuwirth (42.23) also took gold. 

Dickinson's Charlie Miske (decathlon; 5700) also won gold for the Red Devils, while the Swarthmore 4x800 relay of Matthew Gutow, Jonah Ring, Ethan Rothenberg, and Aidan Cantine raced to gold at 7:43.98.
