COCKEYSVILLE, Md. -- Haverford reclaimed its spot atop the Centennial Conference on Saturday, capturing its 24th conference title at the 2021 CC Men's Cross Country Championship hosted by Johns Hopkins at the Center for Maryland Agriculture Farm Park.

The Fords secured four spots in the top-nine, totaling 37 points to edge second-place Johns Hopkins (45) for the team crown. JHU snapped Haverford's five-year title run at the most recent CC championship in 2019, but the Fords bounced back in a big way this fall. The 37 points for Haverford is the highestever point total for a team champion in the 28-year history of the event, showing the quality of depth throughout the conference among CC squads.

Dickinson placed third with 83 points, followed by Swarthmore (102) and Ursinus (134) in the top five. Gettysburg (180), Franklin & Marshall (186), Muhlenberg (243), and McDaniel (249) placed sixth through ninth, respectively.

Dickinson's Christopher Scharf ran to the individual title, besting Haverford's Ryan Kredell by 10 seconds with a time of 25:22.0 to become the fourth Red Devil individual champion. Kredell crossed in 25:32.4 to pace the team-champion Fords. Rounding out the top-five were JHU's Matthew Kleiman (25:45.3), Swarthmore's Aidan Cantine (25:50.9), and Haverford's Max Brelig (25:55.8).

JHU's Tommy Li crossed sixth at 25:59.9, while Dickinson's Charles Scharf - Christopher's twin brother - placed seventh at 26:06.6 to claim the final spot in the All-Centennial first team.

Haverford's Peter Buckley (26:08.8) and Jamie Moreland (26:09.9) went back-to-back in eighth and ninth place, with Hopkins' Gavin McElhennon taking 10th at 26:13.3. Swarthmore's Atticus Hempel (26:23.9), JHU's Tyler Amos (26:25.9), Haverford's Nico Tripeny (26:28.5) and JHU's Charlie Teeter (26:29.2) finished 11th through 14th, respectively.
