Scharf Collects All-America Honors at NCAA Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Dickinson's Christopher Scharf secured All-America honors to headline Centennial Conference performances at the 2021 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville. 

Scharf placed 32nd overall in the 294-runner field to secure the first All-America honor of his career, crossing the 8k course in 24:18.7. 

In the team standings, Johns Hopkins finished 24th with 613 points, while Haverford took 31st with 780 points in the 32-team field.

Aidan Cantine of Swarthmore was the next CC runner to cross the finish line after Scharf, placing 64th with at time of 24:36.5. JHU's Matthew Kleiman led the Blue Jays with a 68th-place finish (24:37.8), while teammate Arthur Beyer finished 85th (24:42.9). 

Haverford was led by Ryan Kredell, who placed 139th with a time of 25:02.1.
