The Gettysburg College pitching staff held Franklin & Marshall
College’s bats at bay and the Bullet bats did the rest in a
Centennial Conference sweep at Bobby Jones Field on Tuesday.
With the sweep, Gettysburg (18-11, 9-3 CC) remained in the
No. 2 position in the conference standings with only four games
remaining in the regular season. The Bullets wrapped up the opener
against F&M (12-17-1, 4-8 CC) in just five innings as
senior Lanie
Parr (pictured, above) allowed only one hit in the
10-1 victory. The hosts also put an early end to the nightcap with
an 8-0 decision in six innings powered by another strong pitching
performance by freshman Lindsey
Treanor.
Muhlenberg 0-9, Dickinson 1-2
The Dickinson College softball team split a Centennial Conference
doubleheader with visiting Muhlenberg on Tuesday night. The Red
Devils captured game one, 1-0, but the Mules answered with a 9-2
decision in the nightcap.
Lebanon Valley 5-5, Ursinus 6-1
The Ursinus College softball team earned another split on Tuesday
as the Bears won game one against Lebanon Valley 6-5, before
falling in the night cap 5-1.
Washington College 3-7, Swarthmore
2-3
Host Washington College swept visiting Swarthmore this afternoon
at Washington College Softball Field in Centennial Conference
softball action. The Shorewomen won game one, 3-2, scoring
two runs in their last at-bat, and took game two, 7-3. WC is
18-15 overall and 10-4 in the conference, while Swarthmore falls to
14-18 and 0-12.
