Dickinson 2-2, Franklin & Marshall 0-3
Franklin & Marshall split a doubleheader with Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) softball action on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats (13-18-1, 5-9 CC) dropped the first game 3-0, before bouncing back with a 3-2 victory in game two.

 

McDaniel 9-2, Gettysburg 0-0
McDaniel used three home runs and pitched a pair of shutouts in a Centennial Conference (CC) doubleheader sweep of Gettysburg on Saturday.  The Green Terror (20-8, 12-2 CC) took the opener 9-0 in five innings before capping the sweep with a 2-0 victory, securing its first CC playoff appearance since 2006. McDaniel needs a split with Washington (Md.) in its conference finale next Saturday to assure itself the top seed and host the conference tournament on May 5-6.

 

Swarthmore 5-7, Haverford 4-4
Behind strong pitching from sophomores Sarina Lowe and Melissa O'Connor and timely hitting from the Swarthmore offense, the Garnet softball team swept away the Haverford Fords in a pair of barn-burners on Saturday.  The victories were Swarthmore's first two in Centennial Conference play in 2012 as the team improved to 18-18 on the season.  Swarthmore won Game 1 5-4 in nine innings after the Fords rallied to tie in the seventh and Game 2 7-4.

Ursinus 4-10, Dickinson 0-3
Ursinus is now 4-0 on it's three-day, six-game stretch as the Bears swept Dickinson Friday afternoon.  The Bears pitched a shutout in game one 4-0, then broke out the bats in a 10-3 win over the Red Devils (10-24, 6-8 Centennial).
