Rahs broke the school's single-season record for RBI
and tied the Centennial Conference mark for career doubles as the
Gettysburg College softball team earned a split at Elizabethtown
College on Wednesday. Gettysburg (19-14) dropped the opener
5-2 to Elizabethtown (23-15) despite a two-run home run by Rahs.
The Bullets rebounded in the nightcap led by their senior leader as
her first-inning home run broke the RBI record and kicked off an
8-0 victory.
Stevenson 2-5, McDaniel
1-3
Stevenson scored off the international tiebreaker rule in the
bottom of the 10th inning of game one to key a doubleheader sweep
of McDaniel in non-conference softball action on Wednesday.
The Mustangs (17-22) broke a 1-all deadlock in the bottom of the
10th for a 2-1 victory before plating two runs in the bottom of the
fifth to break a 3-all deadlock and complete the sweep with a 5-3
win.
Muhlenberg 10-9, Centenary
5-1
A couple of days after learning that she would not be the senior
speaker at Commencement next month, Shelby Smith
and her teammates on the Muhlenberg softball team let their bats do
the talking. The Mules pounded out 26 hits and had
four innings of at least three runs in sweeping Centenary, 10-5 and
9-1, in an important non-conference doubleheader.
York 4-7, Washington College
3-2
Host York College of Pennsylvania took both ends of a
non-conference softball doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at
Spartan Stadium. The Spartans won game one, 4-3, in eight
innings and were victorious in game two by a 7-2 score. The
Spartans improve to 13-21 on the year, while the Shorewomen Drop to
18-17.
Tuesday, April 24
Haverford 3-5, Arcadia 9-1
The Haverford College softball team earned a split of a
non-conference doubleheader against host Arcadia University on
Tuesday afternoon with a 5-1 victory in Game 2. The Knights
registered a 9-3 victory in Game 1.
Alvernia 2-6, Ursinus 0-0
The Ursinus College softball team was blanked in both ends of a
non-conference doubleheader with Alvernia, losing the first game
2-0 and the nightcap 6-0. In the opener, the Bears were held
to just four hits, while Alvernia (28-8) scored two runs in the
bottom of the sixth to take the win.
