Dickinson sophomore Nicole Piet earns Player of Week Honors

Nicole Piet, So., Dickinson

Piet had a great week, hitting a remarkable .769, going 10-for-13. She scored seven runs and drove in seven more behind a pair of doubles. She drove a double into the gap to drive in the game-ending run against Juniata to finish the double-header with six hits, four runs scored and five RBIs.

Player of the Week

Kelly Kline, Sr., Muhlenberg

Kline hit .571 with a .786 slugging percentage and .625 on-base percentage in a 4-0 CC week for the Mules. She hit a go-ahead solo home run in a 6-3 win at Dickinson and went 4-for-4 in the second game of the Ursinus doubleheader.

Player of the Week

Lauren Dockrill, Sr., Washington

Batted a team-high .476 (10-for-21) with six runs scored and three doubles in helping WC go 4-2.  Led the team in runs, hits, doubles, on-base percentage (.522) and tied for the team lead in total bases (13).  Had a pair of three-hit games, 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and a pair of doubles in a 8-6 win over visiting Gettysburg in game one on Saturday along with scoring her 100th career run.  Went 3-for-4 at Rowan in game two on Thursday in a 3-2 win.  Scored two runs and reached base three times (two walks and a hit) in game two versus Gettysburg in a 7-0 win.  Went 2-for-3 and scored the game winning run in game one against Catholic on Wednesday in which she recorded her 200th hit to become the first CC Softball player to reach 200 hits.

Co-Players of the Week

Jill Schnall, Jr, Haverford
Emily Sneeringer, Sr, McDaniel

Schnall hit 533 with an 1.850 OPS in a 3-3 week. She hit three home runs, including one in each game of the Washington College twinbill, and drove in nine runs. Sneeringer hit .556 with an 1.579 OPS in a 4-2 week. She hit a pair of round-trippers and also had nine RBI. Sneeringer had a grand slam in the opener against Swarthmore.

Player of the Week

Kelly Kline, Sr, Muhlenberg

Kline reached base in seven of eight plate appearances in the Mules' doubleheader sweep of Swarthmore, going 4-for-5 with a home run, four runs scored, three RBI and three walks. She broke open a scoreless tie in the fifth inning of the opener with a solo home run and had a walk and RBI single in a 10-run inning in the nightcap. Her OPS in the two games was 2.275.

Player of the Week

Elizabeth Newman, Sr., Haverford

Newman swung a hot bat during a 4-0 week for the Fords as she hit a blistering .812 (13-for-16). The senior was a catalyst in the leadoff position as she stole three bases and scored six runs. Newman finished with five RBIs on the week including a season-high four in Game 2 against Arcadia.

Player of the Week

Jamie Abell, Fr, Gettysburg

Abell's first week of collegiate softball was impressive for the Bullets. The freshman shortstop hit a team-best .577 with 11 runs and seven RBI over the nine games. She slugged .769 and reached base in two-thirds of her plate appearances (.667 on-base average). Abell also swiped five bases and hit two doubles and one home run. Abell hit safely in all nine spring break contests, including a 3-for-3 performance in the finale against Emmanuel.

Player of the Week

Stacie Maring, So, Dickinson

Maring had a great start to the 2014 season, hitting .857 (6-for-7) in the first two games. She tallied a pair of doubles for a 1.143 slugging percentage, scoring two runs while driving in another. She added a pair of stolen bases as well.

Player of the Week

Kelly Kline, Sr, Muhlenberg

Kline hit .643 with nine RBI and a 1.000 slugging percentage as Muhlenberg opened its season with four straight wins.  She had two three-hit games and tied a career high with five RBI, three on her 22nd career home run, in a 9-8 win against Ohio Northern.  Kline also broke the school record for career total bases (250).
