CARLISLE, Pa.  – Gettysburg scored two runs in the top of the ninth to polish off a 6-4 win in the nightcap and complete a sweep of Dickinson College in Centennial Conference softball action Thursday night.

Gettysburg (15-3, 4-0 CC) scored the final eight runs to grab a 9-2 win over Dickinson (11-9, 2-6 CC) in the opening game. It took two extra innings to decide the nightcap with freshman Stephanie Leonardo (East Haddam, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) drawing a bases-loaded walk to score the game-winning run.

Senior Melissa Tighe (Little Falls, N.J./Mt. St. Dominic Academy) began the doubleheader with a double and after the visitors loaded the bases, she scored on a passed ball. Dickinson dropped in two runs in the home half to take a 2-1 lead.

Tighe sparked the Bullets in her next at bat as well, stroking another double and coming around to score on a single by senior Emily Hall (Reston, Va./Flint Hill School). Gettysburg added another run in the frame to take the lead for good.

Freshman Wendy Folfas (Westminster, Md./McDonogh School) drove in half of Gettysburg's remaining six runs with a two-run double in the fifth and a run-scoring single in the seventh.

Senior Lindsey Treanor (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) earned the victory on the mound after allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits. She struck out five and improved to 7-2 this season.

Tighe and Folfas each finished 2-for-3 with the former scoring a pair of runs. Tighe now has now scored 138 runs in her career and trails the program's all-time mark by just three. Sophomore Jamie Abell (Glenn Dale, Md./Elizabeth Seton), Hall, and Leonardo each went 2-for-4.

The bats were quiet until the fourth inning of game two. Gettysburg struck first as Hall plated Abell with an RBI single. The Red Devils came right back in the bottom of the inning, bringing across three unearned runs.

Sophomore Sam Misurell (Franklin Park, N.J./Bishop George Ahr) led off the fifth with a double and came around to score on a two-bagger by Abell. The Bullets added two more runs in the frame to take the lead, but Dickinson answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game.

Both teams put runners in scoring position in the seventh inning, but neither was able to bring a run across.

Gettysburg loaded the bags in the eighth and ninth innings. While the visitors were unable to convert in the former frame, they found pay-dirt in the ninth. With one out, Leonardo drew a walk to bring in the first run. After a fielder's choice at home, Misurell posted her fourth hit of the day – a single up the middle – to bring home the final tally.

Freshman Aileen Reilly (Huntington Station, N.Y./St. Anthony's) shut down the Red Devils in the ninth, ending the game with her ninth strikeout. She allowed only one earned run on seven hits and improved to 7-1 on the year.

Abell finished 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Misurell logged a career-high four hits in five plate appearances and both scored and drove in one run. Junior Steph Zengel (High Bridget, N.J./North Hunterdon), Hall, and Leonardo each went 2-for-4.

Gettysburg travels to Ursinus College for a doubleheader on Friday, April 3, at 3 p.m.
