Torlincasi, Reilly Named POW

Dickinson senior Nicole Torlincasi (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) was named the Centennial Conference Softball Player of the Week, leading the Red Devils to a sweep of Haverford College in the conference opener on Saturday.

Torlincasi hit .538 with two runs scored, a home run and three RBI in a 2-2 week. She went 4-for-4 with a stolen base in the 4-3 opening-game win against defending conference champion Haverford. Torlincasi went 2-for-4 in the nightcap with a home run and three RBI.

Junior Aileen Reilly (Huntington Station, N.Y./St. Anthony's) was named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week it was announced Monday.
 
Reilly was named the CC Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time in her career. The junior did not allow an earned run in two impressive performances last week. She tossed a complete-game shutout against Stevenson University on March 23, striking out six and allowing just three hits in a 5-0 win. Reilly also went the distance in the first Centennial Conference contest of the spring, striking out five and giving up just four hits in a 3-2 decision at Swarthmore College. For the week, she held opposing hitters to a .149 batting average.
 
Reilly has not allowed an earned run in her last five outings and owns a Centennial-best 0.53 ERA. She is 5-3 with 51 strikeouts and three shutouts over 53 innings of work.
