Gettysburg Tabbed Favorite in Centennial Softball Poll; Five Receive First-Place Votes

LANCASTER, Pa. – Gettysburg has been voted as the favorite to claim conference hardware in the 2021 Centennial Conference Softball Preseason Poll. The Bullets were one of five teams to receive first-place votes in what figures to be a deep field of contenders this spring. 

The Bullets earned 30 total points in the vote among conference head coaches to land atop the poll. McDaniel and Ursinus tied for second with 24 points and one first-place vote apiece, followed closely by Muhlenberg (22 points; 1 first-place vote) and 2019 champion Dickinson (21 points; 1 first-place vote). 

Franklin & Marshall (18) and Washington College (8) rounded out the preseason poll in sixth and seventh place, respectively. 

The 2021 season will feature a round robin regular season schedule to determine the conference champion, with all teams facing each other in a doubleheader. The 12-game schedule begins on Saturday, March 20 and is slated to be completed on Saturday, May 1.
