Washington College & Swarthmore Post CC Tournament Road Wins

Third-seeded Washington College and fifth-seeded Swarthmore secured road wins on Thurday to advance in the winner's bracket of the 2023 Centennial Conference Softball Tournament. The Shorewomen topped second-seeded Dickinson 7-5 in Carlisle, while the Garnet defeated top-seeded Ursinus 3-0 in Collegeville. Through three tournament games, road teams are now 3-0 in the CC postseason. 

Action will now shift to Collegeville for the remainder of the tournament. Saturday's elimination game at 11 a.m. between Ursinus and Dickinson will open the action, followed by Washington vs. Swarthmore. 


In Collegeville, Pa., Swarthmore took down Ursinus 3-0. Olivia McClammy led the Garnet with two hits in three at-bats, while Emily Bertrand tossed a complete-game win, allowing just two hits and no earned runs. 


In Carlisle, Pa., Washington College downed Dickinson 7-5, led by Lexi Barnhart on the mound and at the plate. 

Barnhart went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and scored once for the Shorewomen, while Lilly Cook also went 3-for-4 along with two RBIs and a run scored. Barnhart improved to 7-3 on the mount with the complete-game victory, striking out two and walking one. For Dickinson, Zoe Kleeblatt went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Eden Blanker went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
