Bullets & Blue Jays Headed to CC Championship

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The top two seeds in the Centennial Conference women's basketball tournament - top-seeded Gettysburg and second-seeded Johns Hopkins - posted semifinal victories on Friday night at Bream Gym to advance to Saturday's title game. Tip-off for the title is set for 6 p.m. in Gettysburg.

In Friday's first semifinal, the host Bullets (23-3) toppled fifth-seeded Washington College (17-10) by a score of 64-54. Carly Rice pumped in 22 points and Delaney Donohoe added 17 off the bench to lead Gettysburg. The Bullets advance to their fifth consecutive championship and seventh overall, and will be seeking their first title since 2018.

In the second semifinal of the night, Hopkins (22-3) downed third-seeded Haverford (18-8) 46-39 to advance to the title game for the first time since 2014. The Blue Jays are seeking their fifth Centennial title and first since 2003.

JHU built a 10-point halftime lead and never let the Fords get closer than six in the second half. Christine Corpuz led the Blue Jays with a game-high 15 and Diarra Oden added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Bullets and Blue Jays split their regular season matchups, with each side winning on the road. Saturday will mark the first time ever that Gettysburg and Hopkins will face off for the CC championship.
