Fords & Shorewomen Earn Quarterfinal Victories

Haverford and Washington College posted quarterfinal victories on Tuesday to move on to the Centennial Conference women's basketball semifinals. 

In Haverford, Pa., fourth-seeded Haverford pieced together a record-breaking night en route to a 58-46 win over fifth-seeded Muhlenberg. The Fords set or tied three different Centennial records in the victory. Kayla Robinson pulled down a CC single-game and tournament record 27 rebounds, breaking the previous record of 24. Cortlyn Morris set a new CC Tournament record with eight blocks, while Ally Landau tied the tournament record with 36 points for the Fords. Margaux Eripret paced the Mules with 11 points and 12 boards in the defeat. Haverford will travel to top-seeded Johns Hopkins for a 6 p.m. tip on Friday. 

In Carlisle, Pa., sixth-seeded Washington College outlasted third-seeded Dickinson 56-48 in overtime to advance to the semifinals for the second straight season. The Shorewomen were led by Andrea Prestianne's 16 points along with six rebounds. Prestianne also shot 11-for-12 from the free throw line. Joy Sanders added eight points and ten boards while Kiersten Rose chipped in six points and seven rebounds from the bench. Caitlin Blackman paced the Red Devils with 15 points and eight rebounds. Washington College will take on second-seeded Gettysburg in Friday's semifinals at 7 p.m.
