Gettysburg senior defender Becky Lutz  was named the Centennial's Player of the Year as the 2011 All-Conference women's lacrosse team was released today.

Lutz is just the second defender in Conference history to earn Player of the Year honors, following in the footsteps of Johns Hopkins' Mary Ann McGuire in 1997. She is also the sixth consecutive Gettysburg player and ninth overall to receive Player of the Year laurels.

Joining her on the first team are teammates Hannah Church and Maddie Coleman. Franklin & Marshall also placed three players on the first unit - Erin Dunne, Cat Serpe and Anne Brockmeyer.

Ursinus was represented by two players - Allison Furman and Alyssa Thren. Haverford's Josie Ferri, McDaniel's Erin McDonnell, Muhlenberg's Danielle Rosen and Swarthmore's Annalise Penikis round out the first team.

Washington College head coach Julika Blankenship was named the Coach of the Year. She is the second person in Conference women’s lacrosse history to earn Coach of the Year and Centennial Player of the Year (2004) honors.
