WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel held Swarthmore to one second-half goal to secure a 12-5 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse victory on Wednesday.

Julia Jacobs (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) led the Green Terror (8-2, 3-0 CC) with four goals.

Lizzie Kolln paced the Garnet (6-3, 2-1 CC) with two goals.

Sam Barbeito (Wolfsville, Md./Middletown) won the opening draw and went straight to goal, scoring just 16 seconds into the game to stake the hosts to a 1-0 lead.

Bridget Bopst (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) found Jacobs on her way to the cage to double the advantage with 21:17 on the clock.

Bopst then finished a solo run 70 seconds later for a 3-0 lead.

Elyse Tierney broke up the shutout with her team-leading 33rd goal of the year, connecting on a free-position goal less than a minute later.

Back-to-back Maggie Quinn (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) unassisted goals 17 seconds apart pushed the lead to 5-1 with 17:12 showing.

Briana Narzikul finished a solo run of her own before Danielle Entrot (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Abby Phillips (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) made it a 7-2 game with 12:03 on the clock.

Both of Kolln's goals came within a 4-minute, 7-second span to close the deficit to three with 6:48 remaining in the first half.

Jacobs made it an 8-4 game at the break before stretching the advantage to 9-4 nearly four minutes on the other side of halftime.

Another Jacobs tally with 23:00 remaining and back-to-back Bopst markers pushed the lead to 12-4 with 12:25 showing.

Sara Lentricchia snapped a nearly 27-minute scoreless stretch to set the final margin with 9:53 remaining.

Lily Galzerano (Newburyport, Mass./Newburport), the reigning CC Defensive Player of the Week, finished with 12 saves in net. Quinn added four draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers to her two goals and an assist.

McDaniel returns to action at No. 4 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
