Manetta, Bozzo Named Players of Week

Haverford senior midfielder Sarina Manetta has been named the Centennial Conference women's lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 30, the conference office announced in a release on Monday afternoon. This is the second time this season that Manetta has received the award. Manetta also received the recognition for the week ending Feb. 26.

Manetta scored seven goals, handed out two assists, controlled 14 draws and caused a pair of turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Fords, who took down Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore to wrap up the 2017 regular season. She capped her career with five goals, including the 100th of her career, with seven draw controls in a 20-15 triumph vs. the Garnet.

Manetta leaves Haverford with the single-season program record for draw controls (64) and draw controls per game (4.00). The marks were both set during the 2017 season, as the senior co-captain used back-to-back seven draw control outings to secure the record. Manetta tallied three game-winning goals in 2017 while netting 11 free-position conversions. Additionally, she has led the squad in ground balls in each of her four seasons at Haverford.

Franklin & Marshall's Sarah Bozzo was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse announced by the league office on Monday. The honor is the first for Bozzo this season and the fifth for a member of the women's lacrosse team.

Bozzo caused three turnovers and scooped up four ground balls in the Diplomats' 17-10 win over Muhlenberg to clinch the No. 2 seed for this week's Conference championship tournament.
