Barr Named IWLCA National Player of the Week

Gettysburg junior attacker Liza Barr has been named the National Offensive Player of the Week by the IWLCA/Lacrosse Sports Network. She becomes the third-straight Centennial Conference player to win a national honor, joining Franklin & Marshall's Ally Marino (March 6) and Maggie Hansche (March 13).

Barr was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Barr turned in the best offensive display of her career in top-ranked Gettysburg's (5-0) only action last week, a 20-9 victory over No. 19 Ithaca College at Tierney Field next to the US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. The junior attacker connected on all five of her shot attempts and dished out six assists for a personal best 11 points. That tied the best total by a Bullet over the last 16 years. She had a hand in nine of the team's 16 first-half goals, including each of the final four of the period.

She has been dialed in this spring and has posted at least four points in each of Gettysburg's five games. She leads the squad in assists (19) and points (34) and is tied for the team lead in goals (15).
