For the conference-leading 11th time in Centennial history, Gettysburg has secured the No. 1 seed and homefield advantage throughout the women's lacrosse championship tournament. The Bullets closed out the regular season with a 20-6 win at Muhlenberg on Saturday to complete a perfect 9-0 CC record for the second year in a row.
Two playoff spots were up for grabs heading into Saturday's regular season finales, with Ursinus and Muhlenberg clinching the final two spots. Ursinus defeated Dickinson 17-15 to knock the Red Devils out of playoff contention, while the Mules earned the final postseason bid despite the loss to Gettysburg.
The 2023 Centennial tournament will feature an expanded field of six teams for the first time ever. Top-seeded Gettysburg (14-3, 9-0) and second-seeded Franklin & Marshall (13-4, 8-1 CC) will host Friday's semifinals. Opponents for the Bullets and Diplomats will be determined in Wednesday's first round.
Wednesday's opening round will feature No. 3 Haverford (11-5, 7-2 CC) hosting No. 6 Muhlenberg (11-5, 4-5 CC) and No. 4 Washington College (9-7, 5-4 CC) hosting No. 5 Ursinus (9-8, 5-4 CC). The Haverford/Muhlenberg winner will meet F&M while the Washington College/Ursinus winner will face off against Gettysburg.
