The NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Committee announced on Monday afternoon the 64 teams that will compose the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship and Haverford College, champions of the Centennial Conference, has been tabbed to host first and second round games. The 25th-ranked Fords open with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and The College of New Jersey squares off against The City College of New York in the other opening-round game. The opening-round dates at Walton Field are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10-11. The Lions of TCNJ and Beavers of CCNY battle in Saturday's opening game at 11 a.m., followed by the Fords' match-up against the Engineers in the 1:30 p.m. game. The winners of Saturday's contests square off Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the championship tournament's second round. The Fords will be making their second visit to the NCAAs following the 2005 squad's trip into the national tournament's second round. That team was coached by current Haverford athletics director Wendy Smith '87. The 2012 Fords are coached by sixth-year head coach Jamie Gluck who has led Haverford into the Centennial postseason each of her years on the sideline at Haverford.

Johns Hopkins

For the fifth consecutive year the 24th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team will host an NCAA Regional at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays are making their eighth straight and 11th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Hopkins will host Lancaster Bible, third-ranked Virginia Wesleyan and Rowan in the four-team regional scheduled for November 10-11. Game times are set for 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm for the first round on Saturday, November 10 at Homewood Field. The regional final is set for 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 11. The order for the teams will be determined on a conference call Tuesday afternoon. Ticket prices will be $6 for adults and $3 for senior citizens, students from participating schools (with ID) and children ages 3-13. Children two years of age and younger will be admitted free of charge. Gates will open one hour prior to the first game each day (4 pm). Hopkins (15-4-1) earned an at-large bid to the tournament after falling in the Centennial Conference Championship, 2-1 to Haverford, on Sunday. It is the first time the Blue Jays have gone to the NCAA Tournament as an at-large since 1998, when they finished second in the conference standings. JHU is 11-9-2 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and has advanced to the Sweet 16 in each of the last four years.
