LANCASTER, Pa. -- Dickinson's Meg Tate and McDaniel's Jules Dotterweich were named players of the year while Johns Hopkins' Annie Isphording and the JHU coaching staff also received major awards to lead the 2022 All-Centennial Conference Women's Soccer Team.
Tate, a senior forward for the Red Devils, was selected as Offensive Player of the Year. The Carlisle native is the fourth Dickinson player to nab player of the year honors, and first since 2008. Now a three-time first-team all-star, Tate is one of just 18 players in conference history to accomplish that feat.
Dotterweich, a graduate student defender for the Green Terror, was named Defensive Player of the Year. Dotterweich is the second-straight and third overall McDaniel player to collect player of the year accolades. She earned first-team All-CC recognition for the second year in a row.
Isphording made an immediate impact at defense for the CC-champion Blue Jays, and was named Rookie of the Year for her efforts. The freshman is the second-straight Blue Jay and fifth overall to win the award in its 10-year history. Isphording was also selected to the All-CC second team and one of just two freshman to secure a spot on the all-star squad.
The Johns Hopkins coaching staff of head coach Dan Weiler and assistants Greg Ridout and Jennifer Nance were selected by their peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. JHU posted a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play and secured its 15th CC crown this fall.
Johns Hopkins led the way with eight all-conference honorees, followed by Dickinson (6), F&M (5), Swarthmore (5), McDaniel (4), Gettysburg (2), Haverford (2), Ursinus (2), Washington College (2), and Bryn Mawr (1).
Eighteen players receive all-conference nods for at least the second time in 2022. Tate, Jackson, Gettysburg's Molly O'Shea, Dickinson's Sarah Hughes and Charlotte Glancey, Haverford's Celia Page and Washington College's Rachel Chatfield were each named all-stars for the third time. Now a three-time first-team pick, Jackson joins Tate as one of just 18 players in conference history to be named to the first team three times. Receiving All-CC honors for the second time were F&M's Sierra Brophy, Meg O'Callahan and Mikaela Timmermans, McDaniel's Dotterweich, Jessica Weinholdt and Katherine Carstensen, Dickinson's Emma Cooney and Lauren Bracken, Swarthmore's Kim Kockenmeister and Alice Onyango-Opiyo, and JHU's Katie Sullivan.
Johns Hopkins has 73 all-time first-team selections - the highest total in the conference. Gettysburg (52) is second, while Swarthmore is third (36) followed by Muhlenberg (34), Dickinson (32), McDaniel (29), Haverford (26), Franklin & Marshall (22), Ursinus (6) and Bryn Mawr (4).
