D3soccer.com All-America Team

Graduate student Breukelen Woodard earned Midfielder of the Year, head coach Dan Weiler grabbed Coach of the Year and three members of the Johns Hopkins women's soccer team earned All-America honors as D3soccer.com announced its 2022 national awards winners and All-Americans today.

In addition to her Midfielder of the Year award, Woodard earned First Team All-America honors and was joined on the first team by freshman defender Annie Isphording, while sophomore forward Katie Sullivan was named to the second team.  This is the 12th year that D3soccer.com has named an All-America team and the three selections are a program-best for Johns Hopkins.  JHU produced two All-Americans in 2011, 2016 and 2021.

Woodard becomes the first Johns Hopkins player to earn D3soccer.com Midfielder of the Year honors.  She played in 24 games with 23 starts and led the team in goals (21) and points (47) during the 2022 season.  She scored at least one goal in 17 games and scored seven goals and added one assist in Johns Hopkins' six-game run through the NCAA Tournament; Woodard scored both Blue Jay goals in a 2-1 overtime win against Williams in the Sweet 16 and added two goals in a 2-0 win against top-ranked Misericordia in the NCAA Quarterfinals before scoring game-opening goals against Messiah and Case Western in the NCAA Semifinals and championship game.

Woodard's 21 goals during the 2022 season rank fourth in school history, while her 47 points rank seventh.

Isphording made an immediate impact in her first year at Homewood as she controlled the Blue Jay defense from her spot in the middle.  She played in all 25 games with 24 starts and anchored a unit that tied the Blue Jay single-season record with 17 shutouts.  With Isphording leading the way, Johns Hopkins finished 10th in the nation in team goals against average (.436), while the Blue Jays' 17 shutouts were tied for second in the nation.  Isphording was previously named a First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association.

Sullivan followed an outstanding freshman year with an even more productive sophomore campaign as she ranked second on the team in goals (16) and points (45) and led the team in assists (13).  Her 13 assists are the second-best single-season total in school history and she helped fuel Johns Hopkins' run to the national championship with four goals and three assists in six NCAA Tournament games.  Sullivan scored the game-winning goal in the 2-1 win over Case Western in the national championship game and had one goal and one assist in a 4-1 win over Messiah in the NCAA Semifinals.  Sullivan was previously named a Second Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association.

Weiler earns his second D3soccer.com National Coach of the Year award as he previously was honored in 2018.  He is just the third person to twice win D3soccer.com Coach of the Year and he's the first to do it at two different schools.  Weiler guided the Blue Jays to the first national championship in program history with a 23-0-2 record that included a run of 17 consecutive victories to end the season.  In addition to the NCAA title, the Blue Jays also won the Centennial Conference Championship and spent the entire regular season ranked in the top five in the nation.  In two seasons at Johns Hopkins, Weiler has guided the Blue Jays to a 39-2-4 record.

Weiler was previously named the 2022 National Coach of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches Association and he and assistant coaches Greg Ridout and Jennifer Nance earned Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
