KANSAS CITY, MO – The Johns Hopkins women's soccer coaching staff added a third honor to its list of accolades for the 2022 season as head coach Dan Weiler along with assistant coaches Greg Ridout and Jennifer Nance have been named the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year it was announced today. Weiler's staff also includes assistant athletic trainer Liz Koehling and assistant director of athletic performance Omari Thompson.
Previously, Weiler and his staff were named the USC Region V Staff of the Year and the Centennial Conference Staff of the Year.
Weiler, Ridout and Nance guided the Blue Jay women's soccer team to a 23-0-2 record and the first NCAA Championship in program history this season. Johns Hopkins' 23 wins are the most in program history, while the team's 21 consecutive wins to end the season tied the record for the longest winning streak in school history. The Blue Jays outscored their six opponents in the NCAA Tournament 21-3 and held a 99-11 scoring margin over the course of their 25 games in 2022.
In addition to the NCAA Championship, which the Blue Jays claimed with a 2-1 win over fourth-ranked Case Western in the title game, Johns Hopkins also won its 15th Centennial Conference title, including its record 13th Centennial Tournament Championship. The Blue Jays went a perfect 10-0 in Centennial Conference regular season action before claiming the league's tournament title with a pair of shutout victories.
Each of the USC National and Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year will be recognized at the College Coaches Awards Ceremony at the United Soccer Coaches Convention on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, in Philadelphia.
