Johns Hopkins 8, Washington College 1
CHESTERTOWN, MD - The 13th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team knocked host Washington College from the ranks of the unbeaten on Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 win. The Blue Jays win their seventh straight and improve to 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the Centennial Conference, while the Shorewomen fall to 11-1 and 6-1 in the conference. The Blue Jays take over sole possession of first place in the Centennial with the win. Hopkins jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles by sweeping all three matches. JHU followed that by winning five of six singles matches to take home the win, including a victory by Carolyn Warren over Amanda Bercovici, 6-3, 6-1 at first.

 

Swarthmore 9, Franklin & Marshall 0
SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore women's tennis team (6-7, 5-2 CC) shut out the visiting Frankllin & Marshall Diplomats (1-12, 1-6 CC), 9-0 on Saturday afternoon, not surrendering a single set in the match.   Senior Luann Cignavitch didn't give up a game to F&M players, taking her doubles match 8-0 with  partner, sophomore Kelsey Johnson.  Cignavitch then went on to blank the Dips' Chelsea Bush 6-0 and 6-0 in No. 5 singles action.

 

Haverford 6, Dickinson 3
CARLISLE, Pa. – Three Fords won twice Saturday in Haverford College's 6-3 women's tennis victory over host Dickinson College in Centennial Conference action. The win by Haverford (12-2, 5-2 CC) over the Red Devils (6-6, 4-3) came against the Atlantic South Region's 13th-ranked team and started a new win streak for the Fords following a mid-week triumph over Moravian College. Katie Wettick and Alex Ferrara teamed up for one of two points won by the Fords in doubles play, taking down Alysia Rodgers and Shannon Lavery at 1-doubles by an 8-2 score.

 

Gettysburg 6, Ursinus 3
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Gettysburg took home wins at each of the top four singles flights to clinch a 6-3 victory at Ursinus College in Centennial Conference women’s tennis action on Saturday. Gettysburg (6-4, 3-3 CC) won the bottom two doubles competitions against Ursinus (4-9, 0-6 CC). Junior Kylle O’Sullivan and sophomore Kelsey Boyce teamed up for an 8-5 victory at No. 3, while sophomore Laura Habecker and freshman Maggie McLaughlin posted an 8-6 win at No. 2.
The visitors clinched the win quickly with straight-set wins at first, third, and fourth singles. Senior Katie Taylor beat Julia Kurtz 6-1, 6-2 at the top flight and Habecker downed Jimena Talavera 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3.

 

Muhlenberg 9, McDaniel 0
ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Muhlenberg women also extended their streak against McDaniel, beating the Green Terror for the 12th year in a row. Half of those 12 wins came via 9-0 sweeps, including this one. In the seven contested matches, the Mules lost only four games. Senior Sara Sutker, taking a turn at No. 1 singles, recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win, as did freshman Lauren Zakheim at No. 4 and sophomore Amanda von Taube at No. 5.
