Warren Reaches NCAA Singles Quarterfinals

Johns Hopkins junior Carolyn Warren became the first player in program history to make the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championship on Friday. The Centennial Conference Player of the Year, she earns ITA All-America honors with her first round win.

Warren squared off against eighth-seeded Jamie Solomon of host Pomona-Pitzer in the first round, who is currently ranked second in the West region. Warren, ranked fourth in the Atlantic South, did not drop a game en route to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Solomon to advance to the second round for the second straight year. Warren then met Lia Weiner of Rochester, who is ranked seventh in the Northeast and took home a 6-3, 6-1 win to move on to the quarterfinals. She earns All-America honors for the second straight year. Warren will return to action against third-seeded Kendra Higgins of Chicago at 9 am PST on Saturday, May 28.
