LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Johns Hopkins quartet of Alex Ross, Victoria Kadiri, Lauren Phillips and Bobby Van Allen swept the major awards to lead the 2022 All-Centennial Women's Indoor Track & Field Team.
Ross was selected as the Outstanding Track Performer from the championship after claiming individual titles in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters. The senior distance standout set a new championship meet record in the 5,000 with a time of 17:03.93. Ross becomes the fifth Blue Jay to secure top track performer honors.
Kadiri was named the Outstanding Field Performer after claiming a conference-best three individual golds at the championship. Kadiri broke the meet record in the long jump (5.85m) and also nabbed gold in the 60-meter dash and pentathlon. The sophomore becomes the third straight JHU athlete to win the award, and it marks the fifth time a Blue Jay received the honor.
Phillips put together a superb performance in her first CC indoor meet. Individually, Phillips won the 200 meters and finished as the runner-up in the 400. She also ran the leadoff leg of the gold-medal 4x400 relay. Phillips is the second JHU athlete to claim the honor since was instituted in 2014.
Van Allen was selected by his peers as Coach of the Year for the fourth-straight season after guiding the Blue Jays to their 11th consecutive indoor title.
Additionally, JHU's Annie Gutierrez etched her named in the CC record books by becoming the 20th three-time event champion in conference history. Gutierrez won the pole vault for the third consecutive year, becoming the third three-time pole vault champion at the indoor meet.
