GENEVA, Ohio -- The Johns Hopkins women's track & field team totaled 36 points en route to a tied-for-third place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 23-25 at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. A total of eight All-America awards were garnered from the 24 Centennial Conference athletes that competed in the national meet.
On the women's side, Swarthmore posted one point to finish tied for 75th in the team standings, while the JHU men secured four points to place tied for 57th.
In the women's standings, Loras (53 points) edged Washington University (49 points) for the team crown, while Hopkins tied with George Fox for third place. Wisconsin-Eau Claire ran away with the men's title with 68 points.
Six CC women turned in All-America placings in seven events, led by Caelyn Reilly's two All-America placings in the 10,000 and 5,000 meters. Reilly took silver in the 10,000 on Thursday at 35:56.82, before securing fifth in the 5,000 (17:15.03) on Saturday. Tasha Freed (3,000 Steeplechase; 10:40.94) and Veronica Montane (Javelin; 44.45m) also grabbed runner-up finishes in their respective events to help lead the Blue Jays to a top-three team finish.
Other All-Americans from the CC included JHU's Therese Olshanski in the 1500m (4:31.71), JHU's Maya Hammonds in the long jump (5.77m), and Swarthmore's Clay Conley in the shot put (13.77m).
Hopkins' Matthew Su captured the lone All-America finish for CC male athletes, taking fifth in the long jump at 7.42 meters.
