Phillips & Kadiri Lead All-Centennial Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team

Phillips & Kadiri Lead All-Centennial Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins took home three of the four major awards to lead the 2023 All-Centennial Women's Outdoor Track & Field team. JHU's Lauren Phillips and Victoria Kadiri were named Track Athlete of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year, respectively, while the Hopkins coaching staff and Haverford's Olivia D'Aulerio also received top honors.

After receiving Most Outstanding Performer honors at last weekend's CC championship, both Phillips and Kadiri were also honored as the Athletes of the Year based on their performances throughout the entire outdoor season up to this point. The Hopkins duo of Phillips and Kadiri put together superb outdoor campaigns, combining for three conference records, four championship meet records, six individual golds at the CC championship meet, and several marks that rank at or near the top of the Division III performance list.

Kadiri owns the top marks in the nation in both the long jump (6.33m) and triple jump (12.82m), both of which are Centennial records. The defending national champion in both events, Kadiri will enter the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships as the favorite to stand atop the podium once again. Her long jump of 6.33 meters at last weekend's CC championship is the second-bedt mark in Division III history. She took home a total of five gold medals at the conference meet (100, 100H, LJ, TJ, 4x100) and also ranks sixth nationally in the heptathlon.

Phillips set a new conference record in the 400 meters earlier this spring with a time of 55.46 at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell on April 14. That time ranks sixth in the nation. At the CC championship, Phillips set new meet records in both the 200 (24.68) and 400 meters (56.02) en route to gold, repeating as champion in the 400 at the outdoor meet. She also was part of the winning and meet-record-breaking 4x100 (47.74) and 4x400 (3:51.61) relays for Hopkins. She leads the CC in the 100, 200 and 400.

D'Aulerio was selected as the Rookie of the Year for the outdoor season. The Haverford first-year displayed her range in the sprints and mid-distance races this spring, ranking among the top-five in the conference among freshman in the 100m (3rd), 200m (2nd), 400m (1st), and 800m (5th). At the Centennial championship, she finished third in the 400, second in the 4x400, third in the 4x100 and seventh in the 200.

The final major award went to the Johns Hopkins coaching staff, selected as Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers. Head coach Bobby Van Allen and assistants Shedrick Elliott IIIMaura KnestoutAlex JebbJefferson Butler, and Vicki Pellicciotti helped guide the Blue Jays to their 13th consecutive outdoor title.

All-Centennial honors are awarded to the top-three placewinners in each individual event and the top two relay teams. See below for the complete list of honorees.
